At the Randolph Health Cancer Center, you'll find advanced technologies and innovative oncology treatments that are similar to—or better than—those you'll find in large cancer hospitals in faraway places. And our oncology expertise is enhanced by our compassion and small-town pride.
At the Randolph Health Cancer Center, you'll never be an outcome. You won't be a number. You'll be a part of our family. And we'll treat you like family—because you deserve nothing less.
Skilled Oncology Experts in Randolph County
We offer the residents of Asheboro and the surrounding areas of North Carolina skilled cancer doctors with expert training from the best medical schools.
The medical oncologists you'll work with in the Randolph Health Cancer Center are internists who have completed a one-year internship followed by a three-year residency in oncology and internal medicine. That background gives our oncologists a complete understanding of all aspects of cancer treatment, including:
- Cancer surgery
- Pain management
- Psychological care
- Radiation therapy
Your oncologist will manage your care in consultation with our cancer care team, which includes radiation therapists, pathologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons. The combined expertise of your cancer care team ensures that your disease is addressed comprehensively—with all treatment options discussed and optimized.
Nationally Recognized Cancer Care Expertise
We believe the Randolph Health Cancer Center provides oncology care you can't find anywhere else in Randolph County and beyond. National experts agree, including:
- The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons: We received the coveted Outstanding Achievement Award in 2013.
- The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC): We have been granted a three-year, full-accreditation designation by the NAPBC. Ours is only one of 17 breast centers in North Carolina with the accreditation.
- The Quality Oncology Practice Initiative® (QOPI): Due to our outpatient hematology-oncology practices, which meet the highest standards for quality cancer care, we've been given a three-year certification by QOPI. Our cancer center is one of only 10 cancer centers in the state of North Carolina to receive this accreditation.
In addition, Randolph Health Cancer Center became a participant in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers in 2013. We submit data annually, allowing us to measure, track and compare the quality of care we provide.
Cancer Care when You Need It
At the Randolph Health Cancer Center, we work hard to make your life with cancer just a little easier. For example, we try to simplify medication referrals. Just let your physician know at each appointment that you need refills. If you need a refill between appointments, just call your pharmacy. They will fax in the prescription and, in many cases, we can authorize the refill the same day. There are prescriptions you are required to pick up from our office. One of our nurses will call you if this is the case.
We also have a Nurse Line for current patients. Call 336.328.4060 with your questions or concerns. We even have an answering service available after hours to help.
